Why are Certified Health Coaches needed? How do I know if health coaching is right for me? How does the health coach program work?

We’re here to answer all your health coach questions! And we’re so excited it’s a topic that intrigues you. So what exactly is health coaching?

It can be hard to make sustainable changes for our health and well-being alone. Certified Health Coaches are wellness experts and mentors who hold space to help you discover what you need to feel your best.

Everyone is bio-individual and has their own unique needs. Health coaches help you discover how to fuel your body, live a healthy lifestyle, and become the healthiest, happiest version of yourself. This means health coaches take an integrative and holistic approach to health, looking at any areas of your life that may need nourishment like physical activity, food choices, sleep, career, relationships and more.

Why are Certified Health Coaches needed?

According to the National Institute of Health and the World Health Organization, respectively, one in three adults have multiple chronic conditions and over one billion people globally deal with a mental health condition. That’s the reality of the world we live in today, and as a society, we can and must change this number. 

But, it’s hard to do entirely on our own. With an incredible amount of information coming at us every day, it’s difficult to know what’s right, specifically for you. We are all different and we all have different needs. By taking a bio-individual approach, health coaches help you uncover what you need and empower you to make incremental, doable changes that feel less intimidating and overwhelming. Over time, these changes impact you, your families, and your communities for lasting and sustainable change.

How do I know if health coaching is right for me?

Anyone can benefit from a health coach and people see one for many different reasons. These reasons could include:

  • You long to have the energy, time, and motivation to achieve your dreams

  • You've been passed from specialist to specialist and no one seems to have any clue what’s actually going on

  • You're having a hard time following through with your goals and you want accountability

  • You want to develop healthy habits

  • You don't want to go through your health journey alone

  • You feel stuck with where to begin or choosing what's right for you

  • You don’t want to feel overwhelmed

  • You want to be a positive influence to those around you or going through something similar

  • You don't want a quick fix, like a prescribed pill or cream, you want sustainable, lasting change

A health coach is your partner. Think of one as your ally, your guide, and a member of your healthcare team. A health coach will help you discover and tap into your own inner motivation. Working together, you create lifestyle changes that are sustainable for you.

How does the health coach program work at New Heights?

Through our 25-week, 11-session, one-on-one holistic health coaching program, we will look at areas of your life that need nourishment, like physical activity, food choices, home environment, relationships, work-life balance, creativity, career and more. We will work together to create a health vision that’s unique to you – focusing on various areas could include gut health, hormonal imbalances, movement, mindset work, stress reduction tools, etc. All sessions can be performed virtually and participants are not limited by geographical location.

Why is New Heights offering health coaching?

New Heights is a holistic physical therapy center, so we have always integrated coaching in our programs. Now we're offering health-coaching-specific programs because we saw a desire for you to learn more about yourself in a format that allows you to receive guidance plus accountability along the way. The result? You get to lead a more fulfilling life.

Can I just do health coaching? Or do I also have to do physical therapy?

We may have physical therapy in our name, but we’re not your typical physical therapy center – we’re holistic. If you just want health coaching, we are ready for you! We want to impact the lives of as many people as we can, so we offer our health coaching program separately from physical therapy. Anyone who only wants health coaching is welcome to sign up.

How do I know who to pick as my health coach? Megan or Breinne?

We can help you pick! During our Complimentary Discovery Session, we will guide you to the best fit. At New Heights, we work as a team and lean on each other when needed to give you the best care. We’ll guide you in the right direction once we learn a bit about you.

If you know who you'd like to work with already, great! You can start working with Megan or Breinne right away.

Can I still receive physical therapy and other offerings?

Yes, if you reside in Wisconsin then you will be able to receive physical therapy in-person or virtually with Dr. Hannah or Dr. Megan. If you're out of state (for example), our physical therapy offerings will be limited. Our health coaching is offered virtually without geographical boundaries.

What if I’m really curious if I need health coaching but not 100% sure?

That’s ok! This is what our Complimentary Discovery Session is for. We’ll chat to learn more about each other. From there you can decide if you want to commit!
